RESOLUTION IN RECOGN1TlON OF MARY DICKEY
UPON RETIREMENT FROM
BUTTE COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF EMPLOYMENT AND SOCIAL SERVICES
WHEREAS, Mary Dickey, Assistant Director of the Department of Employment
and Social Services, has announced-her retirement as of Octaber 31, 2006; and
WHEREAS, Mary began her career with the County of Butte on July 18, 1972, as
a Clerk Typist working for the Department of Social Welfare and thereafter served in
various positions of increasing responsibility; and
WHEREAS, Mary has taken pride in the hiring of professional and competent
employees, extending training opportunities to them so as to expand their knowledge
and assist them in realizing their full potential and career goals within the Caunty;
WHEREAS, Mary provided strong leadership within the department by
encouraging and modeling a spirit of collaboration, cooperation and accountability; and
WHEREAS, Mary's commitment to the fiscally responsible use of resources and
the pursuit of new funding opportunities enabled the department to provide a multitude
of quality services to Butte County citizens; and
WHEREAS, Mary has taken great pride in her job as a public servant conducting
herself with the highest level of integrity and responsibility;
WHEREAS, Mary has worked diligently for the past 34 years in the best interest
of Butte County and its citizens, earning the respect and confidence of the County
Administrative Office, her employees, and many county, state and community partners;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board, on its own behalf and
on behalf of the citizens of Butte County, extends its appreciation for your vision and
dedication in meeting the needs of the Department of Employment and Social Services
as weH as the overall needs of the community for responsible and compassionate local
government.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 10th day of
October by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Connelly, Dolan, Houx, Yamaguchi and Chair Josiassen
