HomeMy WebLinkAbout07-014 Resolution No. o7-oi4 RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING APRIL 23 - 29, 2007 CONTRACT MANAGEMENT WEEK WHEREAS, in all sectors of government, there has been an increasing awareness of the importance of the contract management function to the well being of public and. private enterprises; and WHEREAS, the County of Butte encourages excellence in performance, sound stewardship of public funds, and strict adherence to procurement laws and ordinances; and WHEREAS, contracting professionals for the County of Butte possess the expertise key to ensuring successful transactions and contracts; and WHEREAS, on July 29, 2006, the National Contract Management Association (NCMA) Board of Directors declared the week of April 23 to 29, 2007, as Contract Management Week, in recognition and honor of the thousands of contracting and procurement professionals within government and private industry; and WHEREAS, Contract Management Week, held in conjunction with NCMA's World Congress in Dallas, 'Texas, will be a time dedicated to continued professional development, organizational focus, and personal recognition for the practice and for practitioners; and WHEREAS, the County of Butte, desires to promote awareness of the superior efforts of contracting and procurement professionals and the myriad facets of their work. NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California, hereby proclaims April 23 to 29, 2007, as Contract Management Week in honor of the contributions of contract professionals for their dedication, resolve, and business acumen in the procurement of goods and services.
