CAROL HENRY "C.H." JONES
WHEREAS, this Board expresses its appreciation to Carol Henry Jones for his 17 years of dedicated
service to Butte County; and
WHEREAS, Correctional Lieutenant C.H. Jones began his career with the Butte County Sheriffs
Office, as a Correctional Officer in 1990 after retiring from over twenty-two (22) years of service with the U.
S. Army; and
WHEREAS, on January 10, 1998, he was promoted to the rank of Correctional Sergeant and then to
Correctional Lieutenant on April 17, 1999. Correctional Lieutenant Jones has worked virtually every
assignment and position within the Jail Division. He has been instrumental in the computerization, policy
revision and implementation and budgeting for the Jail Division. Due to Correctional Lieutenant Jones' vast
knowledge, strong work ethic and a desire to succeed, he has been assigned as an "acting Jail Commander" on
numerous occasions and performed with excellence. Correctional Lieutenant Jones has significantly improved
Jail operations during his career and has left a lasting impression on the Jail Division and the Sheriff's Office;
and
WHEREAS, we wish Correctional Lieutenant Jones a happy retirement and thank him for his
dedication to the Sheriff's Office, the County of Butte and the People of the County; and
WHEREAS, after serving the citizens of Butte County for 17 years, Carol Henry Jones retired on
January 27, 2007.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors, on its own
behalf and on behalf of the residents of the County of Butte, that said Board expresses its deep appreciation for
the unselfish dedication and devotion given by Correctional Lieutenant Carol Henry Jones during his career
with the Butte County SherifJ's Office.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors this 13th day of February 2007 by the
following vote:
AYES: Supervisors
