REUSE ASSISTANCE GRANT APPLICATION TO THE CALIFORNIA
INTEGRATED WASTE MANAGEMENT BOARD FOR FISCAL YEAR 2007/2008 ON
BEHALF OF THE WORK TRAINING CENTER
WHEREAS, the County of Butte recognizes that it is in the public interest to enact and
implement an integrated waste management plan to address the State's diminishing landfill
capacity and the potential adverse environmental impacts from landfilling; and
WHEREAS, as part of its plan to conserve landfill capacity and address potential
environmental impacts from landfilling, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte adopted
the Source Reduction and Recycling Element and Household Hazardous Waste Element on
November 10, 1992, which Elements are included in the Butte County Integrated Waste
Management Plan; and
WHEREAS, the California Integrated Waste Management Board has been delegated the
responsibility for the administration of the Reuse Assistance Grant Program within the state,
setting up necessary procedures governing applications by cities and counties under the program;
and
WHEREAS, the Work Training Center Inc., has authorized the County to submit a Grant
application to the California Integrated Waste Management Board on their behalf and to be the
lead agency for the implementation of the Grant; and
WHEREAS, the applicant will enter into an agreement with the State of California for
implementation of a Reuse Assistance Grant Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of Supervisors
authorizes the submittal of a Reuse Assistance Grant Application on behalf of the Work Training
Center Inc. of Butte County, to the California Integrated Waste Management Board. The Public
Works Director of the County of Butte, or his designee, is hereby authorized and empowered to
execute in the name of the County of Butte all necessary applications, contracts, payment
requests, purchases, agreements and amendments thereto for the purposes of securing grant funds
and to implement and carry out the purposes specified in the grant application.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors, County of Butte, State of
California, this 13" day of March 2007 by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Connelly, Kirk, Josiassen, Yamaguchi and Chair Dolan

ABSENT: None
NOT VOTING: None
