RESOLUTION IN RECOGNITION OF
PAUL MCINTOSH, CHIEF ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER
WHEREAS, Paul McIntosh, Chief Administrative Officer for Butte County, announced
his resignation effective June 30, 2007; and
WHEREAS, Paul was appointed by the Butte County Board of Supervisors on April 22,
2002 as the Chief Administrative Officer; and
WHEREAS, Paul brought a wealth of experience and knowledge to Butte County
from his previous employment, having served as the Chief Administrative Officer of EI Dorado
County, the Deputy County Administrator for Solano County, the County Administrator for
Hernando County, Florida, and the County Manager of Mohave County, Arizona; and
WHEREAS, Paul came to Butte County in times of financial difficulties and political
uncertainties; and
WHEREAS, Paul, working together with the Board of Supervisors, department heads,
and County staff, stabilized the County budget and enhanced County service levels in almost all
areas; Paul also fostered an environment of cooperation between various governmental
agencies in Butte County, elected and appointed officials, County staff, and citizens; and
WHEREAS, Paul earned the trust of others by his direct and ethical leadership; and
WHEREAS, Paul prepared Butte County for the future by taking leadership in
implementing the fifth largest solar project in the United States at the time, a capital
improvement program, an innovative Workers' Compensation program; a competitive
compensation structure, and improved bond ratings; and
WHEREAS, Paul worked diligently for the past five years in the best interest of Butte
County and its citizens, earning the respect and confidence of the Board of Supervisors, County
Staff and the Community; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That this Board, on its own behalf, and on
behalf of the residents of the County of Butte, wish to express to Paul McIntosh sincere
appreciation for his dedication and outstanding service rendered to the residents of the County
of Butte, and further wish him well in the next phase of his career as Executive Director of the
California State Association of Counties (CSAC).
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of
California, this 12"' day of June 2007, by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Connelly, Kirk, Josiassen, Yamaguchi, and Chair Dolan
