HomeMy WebLinkAbout07-148,. ,- ~~~ ~' `SUPERu[SC~R~a „ ~ ~4UN't`Y 4F' lTifl~, STATE ©F GALIFC~RNIA ~. ~;~:;~'~ ~-+~` Resolution No. 07--i4s z RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING THE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER 2007 AS THE FOURTH ANNUAL NATIONAL PREPAREDNESS MONTH WHEREAS, National Preparedness Month is a nationwide effort to increase public awareness about the importance of preparing for emergencies; and WHEREAS, Butte County Public Health encourages individuals to prepare for emergencies in their homes, businesses and communities by taking simple steps such as compiling emergency supply kits, making emergency plans, and engaging in community preparedness and response efforts; and WHEREAS, by individuals and families being well-prepared, it allows first responders to prioritize and focus~their efforts and aid during an emergency or disaster; and WHEREAS, Butte County Public Health Department works to meet the needs of the community by educating individuals, planning for appropriate responses to disasters, and most specifically preparing to respond to disease outbreaks and epidemics that are increasingly predicted to occur. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors hereby recognizes the month of September 2007 as National Preparedness Month.
