'~'~ '=°' BOARD OF SUPERVISORS ;. ~t : *~ COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA ~~~•. .••~ G4ii o~~`~:,•COUN~'~,i~e~~~ ~c~salttfion ~,~o.07-iii ^ss RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING RESPONSIBILITIES FOR IMPLEMENTATION OF THE AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT (A.D.A.) WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors first established responsibilities for the Americans with Disabilities Act in 1992, with Resolution No. 92-91, which was subsequently superceded by Resolution 98-13, which resolution was superceded by Resolution 01-024, which resolution was superceded by Resolution 02-039; and WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors desires to further modify the assignment of such responsibilities to enhance the implementation of the A.D.A., to allow more flexibility in responding to changing circumstances; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California, as follows: 1. Resolution No. 02-039 is superseded in its entirety by this resolution. 2. The Board of Supervisors fully supports efforts to end discrimination in employment, services, and any bars to programs which may exist for qualified disabled individuals. 3. The Director-Human Resources is hereby designated as the County's ADA Compliance Officer. 4. The Duties of the Compliance Oftcer shall include: a. Assure County compliance with the provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act with regard to County employment, services, and programs. b. Review and recommend amendments to the Board of Supervisors of the County's Merit System and Personnel Rules to assure compliance with the ADA. c. Prepare an annual report to the Board of Supervisors of efforts to comply with the ADA. 5. The Chief Administrative Officer shall provide staff as necessary to assist the Compliance Officer with technical guidance and reviews of the County's facilities, and to advise the Chief Administrative Officer generally regarding maintaining compliance with ADA requirements. The composition of assigned staff shall be at the discretion of the Chief Administrative Officer, and may be modified from time to time to best address the issues currently relevant to ADA compliance.
