RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF BUTTE
RECOGNIZING THE BERRY CREEK COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION
AS THE REPRESENTATIVE OF THE BERRY CREEK COMMUNITY
WHEREAS, the community of Berry Creek ("Community") has organized itself as the
Berry Creek Community Association for the purpose of representing the community on County
issues; and
WHEREAS, the Community defines itself as all properties falling either wholly or
partially into the 95916 zip code, as defined by the United States Postal Service; and
WHEREAS, The goal of the Berry Creek Community Association is to advocate for the
preservation and enhancement of the quality of life in the Community; and
WHEREAS, the Berry Creek Community Association shall provide a means for
Community residents to have input on matters that impact the quality of life such as public health
and safety, transportation, water quality, land use, and recreation; and
WHEREAS, The Berry Creek Community Association may represent the Community to
any agency or entity on any matters concerning the Community; and
WHEREAS, the Community has chosen five (5) residents to serve as the executive
council of the Berry Creek Community Association.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Supervisors of Butte
County recognizes the Berry Creek Community Association as representative of the community
of Berry Creek, as defined in this resolution; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that County departments shall take all reasonable steps
to provide information and make presentations to the Association on all County-related,
community-wide issues, upon a request from the Berry Creek Community Association; and
BE IF FURTHER RESOLVED, that County departments shall take all reasonable steps
to communicate with the Berry Creek Community Association regarding community-wide issues
that arise in the area represented by the Association.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of
California, on the 11th day of December 2007 by the following votes:
AYES: Supervisors Connelly, Josiassen, Kirk, Yamaguchi, and Chair Dolan
