RESOI,UI'[ON OF THE BOARD OF SUPF.RI~'ISORS OF THE COUNTY OF BUTTE
RECOC:NI7ING THE PALERMO COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION
AS THE, REPRESENTATIVE OF THE PALERMO COMMUN[TY
WHEREAS, the community of Palermo ("Community") has organised itself as tale
Palermo Communit~A_ssociation for the putpose of representing the Conur~unity on County
lssneS; anCl
WHEREAS, the Community defines itself as all properties falling either wholly or
partially into the ~~59G8 rip code, as defined by the United States Postal Service; and
WHEREAS, the goal of the Palermo Comnuu~ity Association is to advocate for the
preservation and enhancement of the quality of li fe in the Community; and
~~'HERF,AS, the Palern~o Community association shall provide a means for Community
residents to have input on manors that impact the quality of life such as public health and safety,
transportation, water quality, land use, atld recreation; and
WHF,REAS, the Palel7no Community Association may represent the Community to any agency
or entity on any matters concerning the Community; and
WHERT:AS, the Community has chosen five residents to serve as the executive council
of the Palermo Community Association.
NOW, "THF.RF,FORE, BE [T RESOLVED, that the Hoard oi~ Supervisors of Butte
County recognir.es the Pale~~»o Community Association as representative of the conununity o1~
Palermo, as defined in this resolution; and
BF, 1'h FUR"I'HER RESOLVED, that County departments shall take all reasonable steps
to provide information aid make presentations to the Association on all County-related,
community-wide issues, upon a request from the Palermo Community Association; and
BE IF FURTHER RESOLVED, that County departments shall take all reasonable steps to
communicate with the Palermo Community Association regarding community-wide issues that
arise in the area represented by the Association.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of
California, on the ?6th day of February 2008 by the following votes:
AYES: Supervisors Connelly, Dolan, Yamaguchi, Kirk, and Chair Josiassen
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
NOT VOTING: None
