RESOLUTION REQUESTING ALTERNATIVE PROGRESS PAYMENT
PROCEDURES ON THE AGUAS FRIAS ROAD BRIDGE ACROSS BUTTE CREEK,
FEDERAL BRIDGE REPLACEMENT PROJECT NO. STPLF-5912(014),
COUNTY PROJECT NO 23201-95-1
Whereas, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte has previously authorized the
Department of Public Works to seek to have the replacement of the Aguas Frias Road Bridge
included in the Federal Highway Bridge Replacement Program; and
Whereas, the costs to replace this bridge will be reimbursed by a combination of Federal (HBPj
and State (STIP) monies; however, the Department will need to make substantial progress
payments during construction of the project; and
Whereas, the uncertainty of current year anticipated revenues makes cash shortages likely and
the payments to the contractor on such a large project will increase the likelihood of cash
shortages in the Department; and
Whereas, an Altenlative Construction Progress Payment Procedure exists that will lessen the
impact on the Department.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors as
follows:
Authorize the Department of Public Works to seek approval of the use of the Alternative
Construction Progress Payment Procedure on the Aguas Frias Road Bridge Across Butte Creek,
Federal Bridge Replacement Project No. STPLF5912(014).

AYES: Supervisors Connelly, Dolan, Kirk, Yamaguchi, and Chair Josiassen
