RESOLUTION TO APPKOVE AMENDED PLAN FOR
CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION, INTERVENTION AND TREATMENT (CAPIT'},
COMMUNITY-BASED CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION {CBCAP), AND
PROMOTING SAFE AND STABLE EAMILES (PSSF) FUNDED PROGRAMS
WHEREAS, the California Department of Social Services, Office of Child Abuse Prevention, is
responsible for the administrative oversight of Child Abuse Prevention, Intervention and Treatment (CAPIT),
Community-Based Child Abuse Prevention (CBCAP), and Promoting Safe and Stable Families (PSSF) program
fi~nduig and the administratively combined CAPITICBCAPIPSSF Three-Year Plan; and
WHEREAS, on February 23, 1999 the Butte County Board of Supervisors designated tl7e Butte County
Department of Employment and Social Services to apply for funding from the Office of Child Abuse Prevention,
and administer the Child Abuse Prevention, Intervention and Treatment (CAPIT) and Community-Based Child
Abuse Prevention (CBCAP} programs ;and
WHEREAS, California Welfare and Institutions Code section 1664?{b) requires that the local Welfare
Department shall administer the Promoting Safe and Stable Families (PSSF} program ;and
WHEREAS, to minimize duplicative processes, maximize resources and increase partnerships, flze
California Department of Social Services is integrating the CAPIT/CBCAPIPSSF' Three-Year Plan into the
California Children and Families Services Review tieunial cycle in each county ;and
WHEREAS, each County is required to develop a transition strategy to integrate their
CAPITi"CBCAPlPSSF Three-Year Plan service cycle to coordinate with the California Children and Families
Services Review triennial cycle ;and
WHEREAS, the Butte County Department of Employment and Social Services is submitting an amended
Three-Year Plan to the Office of Child Abuse Prevention for the service cycle July 1, ?aag through June 30, 2011
which will allow for the competitive bid cycle for CAPIT,'CBCAP'PSSP fimdcd programs to integrate with the next
California Children and Families Services Review triennial cycle; and
BE IT RESOLVED that:
The Board of Supervisors approves submitting the Amended Three-Year Plan for CAPITICBCAPIPSSF
program funds.

following vote:
