The Chico and Oroville Optimist Clubs are holding a big event in Chico to remember 9/11 by honoring Butte County
Firefighter/Emergency Responders at breakfast at Logan's Roadhouse Restaurant in Chico on Sunday Sept.10t"zo37 2017
Butte County Supervisors are very respected community leaders.When they speak for their communities honoring our
Firefighters and emergency responders, they provide a gift for both the firefighters and the community.
I've attached a poster and detailed description of the event. I am eager to:
1. Have the event widely promoted throughout the Butte County Offices including all of the Supervisors Offices;
2. Sell tickets for Virtual Tables of Six to the various County Departments. The Firefighters/Emergency
Responders from Cal-Fire Butte County and the California Conservation Corps are very excited about the
event. We need to fill the hall with community to honor them (not to mention pay for their breakfasts;
3. Enlist Supervisors to speak at the event, (for just a few minutes each) remembering 9/11 and/or honoring our
Firefighters. The event will run continuously from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM but we are dividing it into 2
segments 8-9AM and 9-10AM in order to meter folks to maximize the efficiency of the meal service. Dignitaries
volunteering to speak should indicate in which time slot they would like to be scheduled. I will provide all
speakers with a complete schedule of the program before the event.
We can serve up to 400 breakfasts and our goal is to honor at least 100 Firefighters, of course we are optimistically
hoping for 200. I've had very enthusiastic support from CalFire Butte County and the California Conservation Corps.

Buy an FirefightER * Breakfast for 9/11
The Chico and Oroville Optimist Clubs are hosting this event in which the community
remembers 9/11 by honoring Butte County Firefighters/ Emergency Responders.
The program is entitled, "Buy a FirefightER Breakfast on 9/11". The Chico and Oroville
Optimist clubs are partnering with Logan's Roadhouse Restaurant in Chico (1900 E. 20th Street,
Chico 95928 to conduct this event. The event will occur between 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM on
Sunday, 9/10/17. It will be open to the public, with purchased tickets.
Tickets are being sold at the Oroville and Chico Chambers of Commerce and online at
Eventbrite.com. It cost $16.00 for a ticket which includes their breakfast and breakfast for a
Firefighter/Emergency Responder. Tickets for Virtual Tables of 6 will be available for
organizations to purchase. They will cost $96.00 and will provide breakfast for six members of
the organization plus six breakfasts for firefighters. In addition, the group can hang their
banner at the event and there will be a scheduled opportunity for a leader in the organization
to introduce his group and express their 9/11 story and appreciation for our Firefighters during
the program.
The Firemen/Emergency Responders of Butte County have been invited to come to have
breakfast and be honored. They will be greeted, honored and given a souvenir ticket as they
arrive and identify themselves, then seated at a centrally located table of honor. They will be
served their breakfast expeditiously (paid for by other attendees) and will be free leave as they
finish or as duty calls. Local dignitaries, community leaders, and table sponsors will be
scheduled to speak for our community and there will be opportunities for others to speak
throughout the breakfast.
Any profits arising from the event will be used to fund the Chico and Oroville Optimist Clubs
"Friend to Youth" Programs which includes their Annual Oratory and Essay Contests and
Summer Camp opportunities for at-risk youth.
