Dear Participant:
As you know, the Forest Supervisor for the Lassen National Forest has issued a Final
Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) and Draft Record of Decision for the Lassen National
Forest Over-snow Vehicle Use Designation project.
This is a reminder that the objection period for this decision is quickly approaching. All
electronic objections must be submitted no later than midnight, October 7, 2016. Mailed
submissions must be postmarked by this date and received by the Forest Service no later than
October 14 to be considered.
The Lassen National Forest will be holding an objection resolution meeting on October 13, 2016
from 2:OOPM until 4130PM at the Lassen National Forest Supervisor's Office, 2550 Riverside
Drive, Susanville, CA. This meeting will be an opportunity to discuss objections and possible
resolution with the Forest Supervisor and his staff. Attendance at this meeting is not necessary in
order to submit objections. However, it will be an opportunity to speak with the Reviewing
Officer (Deputy Regional Forester) and the Forest Supervisor about your concerns and potential
remedies. This meeting is designed for the objectors but will be open to the public.
If you are planning to submit objections, please try to do so as soon as possible. Early
submissions will allow more time for the Forest to work with objectors to achieve resolution. If
you plan on attending the objection resolution meeting, please let me know by October 7, 2016.
