Resolution
WHEREAS, Joan Townsend began her employment with the County in July of 1997 in the Butte
County Public Health Department as a Clinic Manager/Advisor;
WHEREAS, during her tenure at Butte County Public Health Department Joan expanded clinic services
into new areas, such as faster care child assessments, travel immunizations, malaria risk assessments, and
helped plan and design new clinics at Butte Community Employment Centers in Chico and Oroville, and
WHEREAS, Joan Townsend became an Executive Assistant to Supervisor Bill Connelly in January
2005; and
WHEREAS, Joan Townsend worked tirelessly helping District I constituents on a wide variety of
issues; often attending meetings and taking to constituents after hours and on weekends; and
WHEREAS, the 12 years Joan Townsend dedicated to the citizens of Butte County epitorriizes Public
Service,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE TT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors, on its own behalf and on the
behalf of the residents of Butte County, wish to recognize Joan Townsend far her dedication and service to the
people of the County of Butte.
