WHEREAS, Butte County Code Section 2.1 provides that the Board of Supervisors may, by
resolution, specify those hours during which individual departments will be open to the public;
and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors has decreased the County General Fund allocation to the
Butte County Library; and
WHEREAS, the Library will be laying off staff to support a 23% budget reduction; and
WHEREAS, the City of Chico contributes funding for staff to extend library hours at the Chico
Branch by 25 hours per week beyond the 30 hours per week funded by the County
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Butte County Board of Supervisors that the
Library will be open to the public effective April 18, 2009 as follows:
Biggs Branch Gridley Branch
Tuesday noon ~- 6 pm Wednesday noon - 6 pm
Thursday 10 am --- 4 prn
Friday 10 am - 4 prn
Saturday 10 am - 4 pm
Chico Branch
Monday 9 am - 6 pm
Tuesday 9 am - 7 pm Oroville Branch
Wednesday 9 am - 7 pm Tuesday noon - 6 pm
Thursday 9 am - 7 pm Wednesday noon - 6 pm
Friday 9 am - S pm Thursday 10 am -~ 4 pm
Saturday 9 am - 5 pm Friday 10 am - 4 prn
Durham Branch
Tuesday noon - 6 pm
Saturday 10 am - ~ pm
Paradise Branch
Tuesday noon - 6 pm
Wednesday noon - 6 pm
Thursday 10 am - 4 pm
Friday 10 am - 4 pm
Saturday 10 am .... ~ pm
All branches normally closed on Mondays will observe Monday holidays on the preceding
Saturday.
Resolution No. 07-134, adopted August 14, 2007, is hereby rescinded in its entirety.
