WHEREAS, Ken Reimers, Assessor, announced his retirement as of Apri130, 2009; and
WHEREAS, Ken Reimers began his career in the Assessor's Office on September 1, 1972 as a
Property Appraiser I, advancing within the department, holding the positions of Property Appraiser II,
Property Appraiser III, Senior Appraiser, Supervising Appraiser and was elected to serve as Assessor in
1994 and was re-elected for a second term in 1998, a third term in 2002, and a fourth term in 2006.
WHEREAS, Ken Reimers served as President of the Northern California Assessors' Association;
served as a senior member in the National Association of Review Appraisers; and served as Chairman of
the Butte County Management Council; and
WHEREAS, Ken Reimers served his community as Chairman of the Chico Area Taxpayers
Association, as Chairman of the Chico Christian School Board, and as a member of the Governing Board of
the Neighborhood Church.
WHEREAS, Ken Reimers implemented within the Assessor's Office a customer service policy
which emphasizes excellence;
WHEREAS, Ken Reimers diligently served the residents of the County of Butte for 36 % years
with his extraordinary dedication and leadership skills;
NOW, THEREFORE, BET IT RESOLVED, that this Board, on its own behalf, and on behalf
of the residents of the County of Butte, wish to express to Ken Reimers sincere appreciation for his many
years of unselfish dedication and outstanding service rendered to the residents of the County of Butte, and
further wish him well on his retirement.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of
California, this 2151 day of April, 2009 by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Dolan, Kirk, Lambert, Yamaguchi, and Chair Connelly
