Resolution
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors for the County of Butte has adopted a standard of
aid for General Assistance pursuant to Welfare and Institutions Code Section 17000.5; and
WHEREAS, Welfare and Institutions Code Section 17000.5 permits the Board of
Supervisors to annually adjust the standard of aid for General Assistance to reflect increases and
decreases in the maximum aid Ievel in the County under the Ca1WORKs program, commencing
with 62% of the Federal Poverty Level effective 1991;
NOW, TI~EREFORE, SE IT RESOLVED as follows:
1. That the County of Butte adopt as a standard of aid and care for General Assistance,
effective July 1, 2009, the amounts as stated on Attachment A to this resolution;
2. That the amounts set forth in Attachment A reflect the standard of aid and care permitted
by Welfare and Institutions Code Section 17000.5 as adjusted heretofore by increases and
decreases in the maximum aid level in the Ca1WORKs program from 1991 to present;
3. Nothing contained in this resolution is intended to affect the right of the County of Butte
to implement in any manner permissible bylaw or subject to discretion of the Board of
Supervisors any change in law effective after the date of this resolution which permits
counties to further adjust or eliminate General Assistance aid levels.
PASSED AND ADOPTED on the 9"' day of Tune 2009 by the Butte
County Board of Supervisors by the following votes:
AYES: Supervisors Dolan, Kirk, Lambert, Yamaguchi., and Chair Connelly
NAYS: None
ABSENT: None

PURSUANT TO WELFARE AND INSTITUTIONS

MAXIMUM GRANT AMOUNT
1. Single adult applicants and recipients who IiVe with one or more unrelated
persons or one or more persons not legally responsible for the individual
shall have their grant as established by Article ll, Section A, reduced by
the percentages set forth below:
a. Fifteen percent if the applicant or recipient shares housing with one
other person;
b. Twenty percent if the applicant or recipient shares housing with two
other persons;
c. Twenty fire percent if the applicant or recipient shares housing with
three or more other persons.

d. For a married couple where only one of the spouses is applying, the
grant amount would be ~/2 the couple rate ($180).
2. Persons shall be eligible to General Assistance in accordance with
Welfare and ]nstitutions Code section 17000.
3. Boarding Home Care {non-medical facility) shall not exceed the following
allowance:
