RESOLUTION IN RECOGNITION OF ROSEMARY L. DICKSON, ASSISTANT
COUNTY CLERK~RECORDER, UPON RETIREMENT FROM BUTTE COUNTY
WHEREAS, Rosemary L.. Dickson {Rosemary}, Assistant County Clerk-Recorder for
Butte County, announced her retirement with her last date of employment of June 26,
2009; and
WHEREAS, Rosemary began her career with the County of Butte as a Secretary in the
County Administrative Office on March 12, 1979, working for County Administrative
Officers Clif Mickelson, Mike Pyeatt (Interim} and Martin Nichols; and
WHEREAS, Rosemary transferred to the County Clerk-RecorderlElections Office as a
Secretary on October 31, 19$7; and
WHEREAS, Rosemary advanced through her career being appointed as a Staff
Services Specialist in 19$7, County Clerk's Fiscal Administrator in January 1992 and
Assistant Recorder in July 1992, which classification was changed to Assistant County
Clerk-Recorder in June 1999; and
WHEREAS, Rosemary managed the Clerk-Recorder's division to keep within the
department's goals of being financially solvent without impacting any County General
Funds; and
WHEREAS, Rosemary instituted continuous cross-training of staff to minimize the need
for additional staff and enable all staff to provide the public with knowledgeable
assistance; and
WHEREAS, Rosemary, in 1997, assisted in the design and remodel of the Clerk-
RecorderlElections Office; the first remodel wi#hin the Administrative building and the
trend setter; and
WHEREAS, Rosemary, in this same year, guided the staff through the conversion to a
PC~based system; and
WHEREAS, Rosemary oversaw all modernization projects from digitizing of maps,
transition of official records from microfilm to images, restoration of historical records,
and expansion of public information on the web, and implementing on-line access for
local title companies to official records; and
WHEREAS, Rosemary worked diligently for the past 30 years in the best interest of
Butte County and its citizens, helping to make #his community a better place to live.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that this Board, on its own behalf, and
on the behalf of the residents of the County of Butte, wish to express to Rosemary L.
Dickson sincere appreciation for her dedication and outstanding service rendered to the
residents of the County of Butte, and further wishes her warmest regards upon her
retirement.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte,
State of California, this 23~d day of June 2009, by the following vote:
AYES; Supervisors Dolan, Kirk, Lambert, Yamaguchi, and Chair Connelly
