ASSESSOR'S OFFICE CHANGE FUND
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte previously adopted
Resolution # 90-01 approving and authorizing a Change Fund in the amount of $ 50 for
use at the Assessor's Office pursuant to Government Code # 29320 et seq ;and
WHEREAS, that code provides for the establishment and maintenance of such
funds in amounts to be determined by the Board of Supervisors; and
WHEREAS, the Acting Assessor has determined that due to the increased volume
and new fee schedules, an increase in the dollar amount of that Imprest Cash Fund
(Change Fund) is necessary for the efficient operation of the Assessor's Office and its
branches; and
WHEREAS, both the Acting Assessor and the Auditor believe that an increase
would (1) be beneficial to the efficient operation of the Assessor's Off ce and branches ,
and {2) would allow for better cash handling practices and procedures, therefore
mutually support the request for an increase;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors of the
County of Butte, State of California, as follows:
That in addition to the amount authorized by the above resolution, this resolution
increases the amount from the existing $50 to $150, an increase of $100.
2. It is the intent of the Assessor's Off ce to distribute that total amount into three {3)
separate cash bags/drawers that will allow change-making operations to occur on a
daily basis in all three off ces while providing sufficient change so that daily receipts
can be deposited "intact" and in accordance with County Cash Handling Procedures.
The Board approves the redistribution of the total amount of the change fund at the
discretion of the Acting Assessor andlor his successor.
3. Certified copies of this resolution shall be transmitted to the County Auditor and the
County Treasurer.
4. The Interim Chief Administrative Officer and the Risk Manager are instructed
pursuant to Section 29323 of the California Government Code to amend by
endorsement the blanket fidelity bond of the County to be conditioned in addition to
its other provisions, upon the faithful administration of the Change Fund and upon the
willingness and ability of the principal for whom such fund has been established to
account for and pay over the fund upon demand of the Board of Supervisors at any
time.
5. The Auditor of the County of Butte is hereby authorized and directed to draw a
warrant in the sum of One Hundred Dollars ($100) in favor of the Acting Assessor,
for deposit into the Butte County Assessor's Change Fund and to adjust County
records accordingly.
6. The Acting Assessor (or successor), or hislher designee will account for the Change
Fund in accordance with Government Code Section 29390 et. seq. and will
periodically verify the amounts in the funds when requested by the Auditor-Controller
or the Board of Supervisors.

of California, on this a 1 day of ~ 2009 by the following vote:
