RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A POLICY WITH REGARD TO WAIVER OF
COMPENSATION FOR THE ELECTED OFFICES OF COUNTY AUDITOR-
CONTROLLER, COUNTY CLERK-RECORDER, COUNTY DISTRICT
ATTORNEY, COUNTY SHERIFF, COUNTY TREASURER-TA% COLLECTOR,
AND COUNTY ASSESSOR
WHEREAS, in recognition of the general poor economic
climate at the Federal, State and local level that has
impacted the County's financial condition, the elected
Offices of County Auditor-Controller, County Clerk-
Recorder, County District Attorney, County Sheriff and
County Treasurer-Tax Collector respectfully offer a
voluntary and irrevocable waiver of ten (105} of their
compensation paid by the. County for the period beginning
July 1, 2009 through June 30, 2010 to assist in addressing
the financial difficulties that the County is facing; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors wishes to establish a
Policy whereby the elected Offices of County Auditor-
Contraller, County Clerk-Recorder, County District
Attorney, County Sheriff, County Treasurer-Tax Collector,
and County Assessor could submit irrevocable waivers of
compensation should they voluntarily choose to do so;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE TT RESOLVED AND ORDERED that the Board
of Supervisors is authorized to accept Waivers from the
County Auditor-Controller, County Clerk-Recorder, County
District Attorney, County Sheriff, County Treasurer-Tax
Collector, and County Assessor who wish to waive a portion
of their compensation paid by the County to assist with the
County's financial difficulties;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED AND ORDERED that the County Auditor
is authorized to honor signed and completed waiver forms
from elected officials from payroll processing and nothing

herein shall authorize a reduction in salary, including
retirement.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of
Supervisors, State of California, on the,215tday of ~_
2009 by the following votes:
