HomeMy WebLinkAbout09-139Resolution WHEREAS, National Emergency Preparedness Month is a nationwide effort to increase public awareness about the importance of preparing for emergencies; and WHEREAS; Butte County Public Health encourages individuals to prepare for emergencies in their homes, businesses and communities by taking simple steps such as compiling emergency supply kits, making emergency plans, and engaging in community preparedness and response efforts; and WHEREAS, by individuals and families being well-prepared, it allows first responders to prioritize anal focus their efforts and aid during an emergency or disaster; and WHEREAS, Butte County Public Health Department works to meet the needs of the community by educating individuals, planning for appropriate responses to disasters, and most specifically preparing to respond to disease outbreaks -such as the novel H1N1 flu pandemic -that are increasingly predicted to occur. NOW, THEREFORE, BE TT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors hereby recognizes the month of September 2009 as National Emergency Preparedness Month.
