RESOLUTIION OF THE BUTTE COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
APPROVING APPLICATIONS FOR FUNDS
UNDER THE HELP AMERICA VOTE ACT OF 2002
WHEREAS, the United States Congress has appropriated funding for the Help Axnerica Vote Act
of 2002 {HAVA} Section 303(a) Computerized Statewide Voter Registration List Requirements;
and
WHEREAS, the California Secretary of State has been delegated the responsibility for the
administration of the Help America Vote Act of 2002 funds, including setting up necessary
procedures for allocation of those funds; and
WHEREAS, said procedures established by the California Secretary of State requite the County to
certify by resolution, the approval of applications and contracts for distribution of said funds to
Butte County.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of Supervisors:
1. Approves the filing and execution of application and contracts for financial assistance for
the purpose of fulflling duties and responsibilities to be funded from funds provided under
the Help America Vote Act of 2002, Section 303(a); and
2. Certifies the County, through its County Clerk-Recorder, understands the requirements of
the Help America Vote Act of 2002 concerning certifications, assurances and audit
requirements, and
3. Appoints the County Clerk-Recorder orhis/her designee as agent to conduct all negotiations,
execute and submit all documents, including but not limited to applications, contracts,
payment requests and other documentation, which maybe necessary far the execution of the
duties and responsibilities under the Help America Vote Act of 2002.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte this 8th day of
December, 2009, by the following vote:
