OF SAID COUNTY, AND DECLARIiQG AN EMERGEPICY 3 The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of Cali- fornia, under and pursuant to Ordinance No. 475, being the Zoning ~ Enabling Ordinance of said County as amended by Ordinance Nos. 522 and 676, DO ORDAIN as follows: 5 SECTION 1. The hereinbelow described area situate in the County of Butte, State of California, shall be and is hereby zoned as an "M-2" (Heavy Industrial) District, subject to the restrictions and 7 restra:cted uses and regulations applicable to an M-2 District, said area so zoned being located near the City of Chico, California, g particularly described as follows: g. As shown by map attached, and as shown on Butte County Sectional Map 2-R in the Office ` 10 of Butte County Planning Commission and in the Office of Butte County Clerk. li SECTION 2. REGULATIONS FOR AIQ "M-2" DISTRICT. '12 The following regulations shall apply in an "M-2" District. 13 2.1 USES PERr4ITTED: 14 a. Any uses permitted in C-1, C-2 and M-1 Districts. b. Aircraft factories, manufacturing of asbestos, assaying 15 boiler works, breweries and distilleries, candle manufacturing, carbon manufacturing, cellulose materials manu~°acturing, chain and lg cable manufacturing, disinfectants manufacturing, dry ]cilns, emery cloth and sandpaper manufacturing, enameling, feed and cereal mills 17 foundaries, freight terminals, galvanizing and lead plating, glass or glass product manufacturing, lamp blaclcmanufacturing, machinery lg manufacturing, soda and cleaning compound manufacturing, match manufacturing, metal fabrication, oil cloth or linoleum manufactur- 19 ing, oxygen manufacturing, paint manufacturing, paper box manufac- turing, petroleum distributing stations (wholesale or retail), p1y- 20 wood manufacturing, printing ink manufacturing, railroad yards or roundhouses, rope manufacturing, soap and soap compound manufacturi: 2I starch,. glucose or dextrine manufacturing, vegetable oil manufactur ing, welding shops, sheet metal shops, wood planing mill or wood 22 working plants, yeast plants and other similar industrial enter- - prises or businesses in character to those enumerated when inter- 23 preted as similar by the Planning Commission. c. tanneries, olive processing plants and otkaer agricul- 2~ tural processing plants of similar nature. d. Accessory uses and buildings permitted pertinent to any ;23 permitted use. 28 2.2 JviINII~IUM SETBACK REQUIRED: Fifty (50) feet from the centerline of the road, except 27 where the road is classified as a Federal Aid Secondary and then the minimum setback shall be fifty-five (55) feet from the center- !28 line of said road. 29 2.3 BUILDING SITE AREA REQUIREN~NTS: None, except as may be required fot building and for off- 30 street loading area and parking space as set forth below under 'Truck Loading and Unloading Space'. 31 2.4 SIDE YARD REQUIRE[~NT: 32 The minimum side yard shall not be less than five (5) feet. 2.5 REAR YARD REQUTREP~IENT: The minimum rear yard shall not be less than five (5) feet. 1 2 6 6 2.6 OFF-STREET PARKING RE4UIRED: One parking space for each three (3) employees, or one .parking space for each two thousand (2,000) square feet ofi gross floor space, whichever is greater. 2.7 TTZUCK LOADING AND UNLOADING SPACE Private off-street loading space for the handling of all goods, materials and equipment shall be provided. Such space shall be of sufficient area and of such design as to permit the parking and loading of vehicles without extending into any existing street beyond the curb line. 7 2.8 TITE FOLI,OWIN6 USES SUBJECT TO TIDE SECURING OF A USE PERP4IT IN EACH CASE: 8' a. Any residential dwelling or use. b. Commercial distillation of bones, abatoirs, auction 9!yards, commercial livestock feed yards, commercial millings, canneries, lumber and lumber processing tanneries, fat rendering, 101 garbage fed commercial hog raising, food and agriculture product ''r~rocessing plants. 11 j ~ c. Storage of inflammables. a. Commercial or public dumping and disposal areas. 12' e. Manufacturing of acids, explosives, fertilizer, glue, gypsum, lime, plaster of Paris, pulp and paper, beet sugar, crushed 1g rock, sand and gravel, cement, concrete and/or asphalt hatching plants, concrete and clay products. 14' f. Industrial uses which might be objectionable by reason 'af emission. of noise, offensive odor, smoke, dust, bright light, 15 vibration or involving the handling of explosives or dangerous 'materials. 16 g• Junk yards and auto wrecking yards. 17 SECTION 3. All uses of land within the District not specificail~ authorized or permitted under Section 2 are prohibited. 18 SECTION 4. For the immediate preservation of the public peace, 19 health and safety of the area hereinabove described, and the resi- dents and inhabitants thereof, it is necessary that this ordinance 20 take effect immediately. A declaration of the facts constituting the necessity therefor is as follows: 21' The adoption of such interim Zoning Plan is necessary in the public interest, to maintain the status guo in such district, 22 pending the determination of the application for such permanent detail zoning. 23. SECTION 5.
