RESOLUTION DESIGNATING THE FRIENDS OF THE ARTS, A PROGRAM OF THE 501 C3 UPSTATE
COMMUNITY ENHANCEMENT FOUNDATION, AS THE LOCAL PARTNER FOR THE CALIFORNIA
ARTS COUNCIL'S STATE-LOCAL PARTNERSHfP PROGRAM
WHEREAS, Butte County had previously on March 23, 2DD4, through Resolution No. 04-041 designated
Friends of the Arts-Butte County as the local partner for the California Arts Council's State-Local
Partnership Program; and
WHEREAS, Butte County would be eligible for state art funds should the County have an arts council that
meets funding criteria of the California Arts Council's State-Local Partnership Program; and
WHEREAS, the Friends of the Arts, a program of the 501c3 Upstate Community Enhancement
Foundation, has applied far funds on behalf of Butte County upon receiving the Board's designation in
2002; and
WHEREAS, the Friends of the Arts is eligible to apply for funds and has shown the desire and motivation
to merit being granted the title of Butte County's Arts Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, (3E IT RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of Supervisors does hereby
designate Friends of the Arts the local partner for the California Arts Council's State-Local Partnership
Program through the fscal year 2011-12.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 27th day of April 2010 by the
following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Dolan, Kirk, Lambert, Yamaguchi, and Chair Connelly

NOT VOTING: None
