Karen Taber
Whereas, this Board expresses its appreciation to Karen Taber for her 17'/2 years of dedicated service to Butte
County
Whereas, Karen Taber began her employment with the Butte County Sheriff s Office in September 1992, as a
Deputy Sheriff. Karen has worked a variety of assignments in the Sheriff s Office. Karen functioned as a Patrol Deputy, a
Detective assigned to the Butte Anti-Drug Special Supervision unit, a Court Security Deputy, a Background Investigator
and finally as a School Resource Deputy assigned to Butte County school campuses. Karen received many accolades
during her career, most noteworthy among those being named Law Enforcement Officer of the Year by the OroviIle Rotary
in 2002 and Peace Officer of the Year by the Chico Noon Exchange Club in 2003. Karen was well respected by her
coworkers and the community and was an integral part ofthe sheriff's team. She will be sorely missed.
Whereas, after serving the citizens of Butte County for 17 %2, Karen Taber is retiring on .Fune 1, 20X0.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors on its own behalf, and on behalf of the
residents of the County of Butte:
That said Board expresses their deep appreciation for the unselfish dedica#ion and devotion given by Deputy Karen
Taber during her career with the Butte County Sheriff s Office.
