RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
OF THE COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA REQUESTING THE
STATE OF CALIFORNIA WAIVE THE ADMINISTRATIVE CHARGE
ASSOCIATED WITH THE COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT WITH CAL FIRE
TO PROVIDE FIRE PROTECTION SERVICES; AND AUTHORIZE THE
CHAIR TO SEND THE RESOLUTION TO ALL COUNTIES THAT CONTRACT
WITH CAL FIRE TO REQUEST ADOPTION
WHEREAS, the County of Butte has contracted with CAL FIlZE since 1931 to
provide fire protectian services; and
WHEREAS, the County and CAL FIRE have found the contract to be mutually
advantageous in providing comprehensive fire protectian services to residents of Butte
County; and
WHEREAS, a total of 35 California counties contract with CAL FIRE far some
level of f re protection services; and
WHEREAS, the current econarnic conditions have strained Butte County and
other counties' ability to provide critical services to the public;
WHEREAS, these conditions have resulted in Butte County and other counties to
mare closely exanr~ine the administrative charge associated with the contract with CAL
FIRE; and
WHEREAS, a waiver of the administrative charge for one year would assist
Butte County to provide suitable fire protection services;
NOW, THEREFORE, SE IT RESOLVED, that the Butte County Board of
Supervisors requests the State of California waive the Administrative Charge associated
with the Cooperative Agreement between CAL FIRE and the Caunty of Butte for one
year; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors authorizes the
Chairman of the Board to send this resolution to all counties that have a Cooperative
Agreement with CAL FIRE to request they adapt a similar resolution.

PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte,
State of California, at its regular meeting held on the 25th day of May, 2010, by the
following vote:
AYES;Supervisors Dolan, Kirk, Lambert, Yamaguchi, and Chair Connelly
NOES: None
ASSENT: None
NOT VOTING: Nome
