BUTTE COUNTYRESOLUTIDNPROCLAIII~IING AUGUST 2010
AS "CHILD SUPPORT AWARENESS MONTH"
WHEREAS, children are our most precious resource and become healthy, productive, and
well-adjusted adults through the support and nurturing of their parents; and
WHEREAS, The Mission of the Butte County Department of Child Support Services is
"CSS and Parents working together for Children"; and
WHEREAS, Butte County's child support program provides an important opportunity for
non-custodial parents to be a positive force in the lives of their children; and
WHEREAS, there are over 13,241 cases in Butte County alone in which the services of the
Butte County Department of Child Support Services are required, orders have been established in
12,837 cases, paternity has been established for 11,143 children and parents have paid over
$12,484,981 toward the support of their children during the current federal fiscal year; and
WHEREAS, Butte County is strongly committed to seeking ways to increase the efficiency
and effectiveness of its child support program by implementing innovative programs and systems;
and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE YT RESOLOVED AND PROCLAIMED that the Board of
Supervisors of the County of Butte does hereby recognize the month of August 2010 as "Child
Support Awareness Month" and commends parents who regularly pay their child support and the
Department of Child Support Services for their steadfast commitment to improving the quality of
life for Butte County's children.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of Butte, State of California, this
27th day ofJuly, 2010 by a unanimous vote of all members present.
