HomeMy WebLinkAbout10-110Resolution RESOLUTION INCREASING THE AMOUNT OF THE PUBLIC HEALTH DEPARTMENT'S CHANGE FUND(S) WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte previously adopted Resolutions including # $9-211, 9$-$3, 01-007 and 0416-002 approving and authorizing a Change Fund in the cumulative amount of $500 far use at the Public Health locations (including Environmental Health and Animal {Rabies) Control) puxsuant to Government Code # 29320 et seq ;and . WHEREAS, that code provides for the establishment and maintenance of such funds in amounts to be determined by the Board of Supervisors; and WHEREAS, the Director of Public Health has determined that due to the increased volume and amount of activity at the various branches, an increase in the dollar amount of that Imprest Cash Fund {Change Fund) is necessary for the efficient operation of the department; and WHEREAS, both the Director of Public Health and the Auditor believe that an increase would 1) be beneficial to the efficient operation of the various branches, and 2) would allow for better cash handling practices and procedures, therefore mutually support the request for an increase; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California, as follows: 1. That in addition to the $ 500 amount authorized by the above resolution, this resolution increases the amount from the existing $500 to $650, an increase of $150. 2. It is the intent of the management of Public Health to distribute that total amount into separate cash drawers located as needed at the various Public Health offices. Present distribution is $50 at Animal Control, $150 at Environmental Health, $50 at their Nursing & Lab, $100 at the Chico Clinic, $100 at the Oroville Clinic and $50 at the Administration Office. The Board hereby approves the redistribution of the total amount of the change fund at the discretion of the Director of Public Health. 3. Certified copies of this resolution shall be transmitted to the County Auditor and the County Treasurer. 4. The Interim Chief Administrative OfFcer and the Risk Manager are instructed pursuant to Section 29323 of the California Government Code to amend by endorsement the blanket fidelity bond of the County to be conditioned in addition to its other provisions, upon the faithful administration of the Change Fund and upon the willingness and ability of the principal for whom such fund has been established to account for and pay over the fund upon demand of the Board of Supervisors at any time. S. The Auditor of the County of Butte is hereby authorized and directed to draw a warrant in the sum of One Hundred Fifty Dollars {$150) in favor of the Director of Public Health, for deposit into the Butte County Public Health {F-0021) Change Fund and to adjust County records accordingly. 6. The Director of Public Health or his/her designee will account for the Change Fund in accordance with Government Code Section 29390 et. seq. and will periodically verify the amounts in the funds when requested by the Auditor-Controller or the Board of Supervisors.
