WHEREAS, the prosperity and well-being of this community is dependent upon cooperation and
understanding between the two great elements of our society-agriculture and urban communities; and
WHEREAS, the complexities of their individual problems and the divergence of their activities have led
to a lack of information and understanding; and
WHEREAS, this lack of information and understanding is being eliminated as each group attempts to
inform and understand the other in order that our American way of life can endure; and
WHEREAS, the Farm City Celebration is celebrating its 30`j' Anniversary; and
WHEREAS, the Farm City Celebration Committee is sponsoring many activities, including an Awards
Reception, an Agri-Business Bus Tour, A Kid's Day at the Farm, a Harvest Festival and a Harvest
Dinner/Dance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that this Board, on its own behalf, and an behalf of the
residents of the County of Butte, designates the period of November 1 through November 20, 2010, as "Farm
City Celebration. "
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Board calls upon the residents of this County to participate in
the joint visits, and civic and social events, attendant to a successful Farm-City Celebration in Butte County.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this ~ day of October 20.10 by the
following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Doian., Kirk, Lambert, Yamaguchi, and Chair Canneliy
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
NOT NOTTING: None
