WHEREAS, National Adoption Month is a nationwide effort to increase public awareness about
the importance of adoption of children from. the foster care system; and
WHEREAS, there are many Butte County children, ages zero to seventeen, born and living in
Butte County who are in need of permanent, stable and nurturing adoptive homes; and
WHEREAS, the California Department of Social Services, working closely with the Butte
County Superior Court and Butte County Children's Services, places hundreds of children every
year with adoptive families; and
WHEREAS, these families devote boundless time, energy and love raising these children,
thereby allowing our youngest and most vulnerable citizens the opportunity to reach their
greatest potential.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOVLED that the Board of Supervisors hereby recognizes
the month of November 2010 as National Adoption Month.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 9th day of November,
20].0 by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Dolan, Kirk, Lambert, Yamaguchi and Chair Connelly
NOES: None
