WHEREAS, Dianne Gentry, Supervisor, Assessment Clerk, announced her retirement as of
November 30, 2010; and
WHEREAS, Dianne Gentry was employed in the Assessor's Office Business Division under the
CETA Program from 1986 through1981; officially began her career with the County of Butte on October
12, 1981 at the Welfare Department as a Typist Clerk; and transferred to the Assessor's Office on January
3, 1984 as a Typist Clerk ll, advancing within the department, holding the positions of Typist Clerk IIT,
Assessment Clerk, Principal Clerk, Secretary T, Administrative Services Assistant, Staff Services Systems
Specialist, and promoting to Supervisor, Assessment Clerk in 2005; and
WHEREAS, Dianne Gentry is responsible for many innovations in the Assessor's Office, which
include streamlining the annual distribution of Business Property Statements, as well as creating a data base
to track business questionnaires, and epitomizes the Assessor's commitment to exceIlent customer service;
and
WHEREAS, Dianne Gentry served as Administrative Assistant to two Butte County Assessors,
Ted Cleveland and Ken Reimers, for a total of eighteen years, during which tune, among her many
achievements, she organized the Northern California Assessor's Association annual conference; and
WHEREAS, Dianne Gentry was named Butte County Employee of the Year for 2002 by the
Oraville Rotary Club; and
WHEREAS, Dianne Gentry has served her community as a member of the Foothill Community
Church of Oroville, and as President of the Oroville High School Parent Teachers Association and member
of the Safe Grad Committee; and
WHEREAS, Dianne Gentry is beloved by her co-workers for her many acts of kindness as well as
her culinary talents; and
WHEREAS, Dianne Gentry diligently sewed the residents of the County of Butte for twenty-nine
years and one and one-half months with extraordinary dedication;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that this Board, on its own behalf, and on behalf of
the residents of the County of Butte, wishes to express to Dianne Gentry sincere appreciation for her many
years of unselfish dedication and outstanding service rendered to the residents of the County of Butte, and
further wishes her well on her retirement.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California, this
23rd of November, 2010 by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Dolan, Kirk, Lambert, Xamaguchi, and Chair Connelly
