Dear Officials, Z am inquiring as to why the main road to Bucks Lake has been closed for 7 months. The traveling public including many of your Butte County constituents gave been forced to use the steep narrow twisting Bald Rock Rd ail summer and fall. I, myself, was ahnost sideswiped by a logging truck and an another occasion almost hit a Sugar Pine Bar patron dead stopped in the left lane. A road washout is an act of God. It should be fixed withizi 30 days weather permitting. C.C. Meyers, a Sacramento contractor, would have had the road fixed within 2 weeks. To have it closed for 7 months is gross negligence bordering on inwmpeience. Were a bad accident to occur on the Bald Rock Rd., a smart Plaintiff Attorney would hold Butte County liable for negligence due to the county's apparent unwillingness to expedisously repair the multiznilliort doU.ar highway paid for with state and federal funds. How much longex must the public suffer? When Sutte. County is found negligent in some lawsuit and county government is facing a multimillion dollar judgment, your constituents will ask what were they thinking. That will be the price paid for your penury and intransigence. John Roth ~ z~fir- ~ a~,e ~ ~
