RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING
SUBMISSION OF GRANT APPLICATION TO THE
SAFE AND ACTIVE COMMUNITIES {SAC) BRANCH
OF THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH
FOR
GREATER OROVILLE -SAFE ACCESS TO SCHOOLS PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the Kids' Plates Program is providing grant opportunities to agencies for the period of November i,
2010 to June 30, 2012 to fund programs that reduce unintentional injuries to children under the age of fifteen; and
WHEREAS, Butte County Public Health has developed the "Greater Oroville -Safe Access to Schools" program in
accordance with grant requirements; and
WHEREAS, through the "Greater Oroville -Safe Access to Schools" program, Butte County Public Health will wor[c
to increase pedestrian and bike safety for children attending elementary and middle school in the Greater Oroville area.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that the Butte County Board of Supervisors authorizes the submittal of a grant
application to the Kids' Plates Program for November 1, 20 i 0 -June 30, 2012.
