WHEREAS, Leonard "Wayne" Copeland, Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Senior for the
Department of Public Works, Fleet Services Division, announced his retirement as of December 14, 2010;
and
WHEREAS, Wayne began his career with the County of Butte in 1992, as a Heavy Equipment
Mechanic, in the Department of Public Works, advancing within the department to become Heavy
Equipment Mechanic, Senior, his present position; and
WHEREAS, Wayne worked in the Fleet Services Division of Public Works for eighteen years,
the last several of which he has been in charge of keeping the Sheriff and District Attorney's vehicles on
the road; and
WHEREAS, Wayne has earned the respect of fellow employees, co-workers, and citizens
involved with the maintenance of County vehicles, and has diligently served the County of Butte far
eighteen years;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors on its own behalf, and
on behalf of the residents of the County of Butte, that said Board wishes to express to Leonard "Wayne"
Copeland sincere appreciation for his many years of unselfish dedication and outstanding service
rendered to the employees of Butte County, and further wish hizn well on his retirement.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of
California; this 14"` day of December 2010, by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Dolan, Kirk, Lambert, Yamaguchi and Chair Connelly
NOES: None

UPON RETIREMENT FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS
COUNTY OF BUTTE
