HomeMy WebLinkAbout10331 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9., 10 ~~ 11' 12 13 14 15 16 17' 18 19; 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27! 28 29 30 31 'PTE COUNTY ORDINANCE N0, i c3_ AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING SPEED LIMIT ON CERfiAIN ROADS WITHIN THE COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA (Vehicle Code Section 22358) ~LL fihe Board of Supervisors of the County of Buttes State of California do ordain as follows: Section 1: Said Board finds and determines that upon the basis of an engineering and traffic survey, the Butte County highways hereinafter desr~,ribed come within the provisions of Section 22358 of the Vehicle Code of the State of California, in that a prima facie speed limit of sixty-five (U) miles per hour is more than is reasonable and safe on said highways, and determines and declares a prima facie speed limit on such Butte County highways as follows: Ao That a prima facie speed limit o£ twenty-five (25) miles perktour is hereby determined, declared and established and that SPEED LTM1T 25 MILES signs be placed at appropriate locations on the hereinafter-described County highways, to wit: (1) Dayton-Durham Highway between Burdick Road and Midway. (2) Arbol Avenue between Oroville-Quincy Highway and Olive Highway. (3) Pomona Avenue between Dayton Road and Miller Avenue. B. That a prima facie speed limit of thirty-five (35) miles per hour is hereby determined, declared and established and that SPEED LIMIT 35 MILES signs be placed at appropriate locations on the hereinafter-described County highways, to wit: (1) Claremont Drive between Lower Wyandotte Road and Brookdale Drive. {2) Edgemont Drive from Oroville-Garden Ranch Road to Oroville-Bangor Highway. (3) Midway from Speedway to Chico City Limits C. That a prima facie speed limit of forty-five (~.5) miles per hour ins hereby determined, declared and established and that SPEED LIMIT 45 MILES signs be placed at appropriate locations on the hereinafter-described County highway c, to wit: Palermo Road from Monte Vista Avenue to Kissel Road Section 2: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed, 32 6 7 8 9 10 11 12' 13 l4. 15 16- 17 18 19 20 21 22 23. 24 25 26' 27 28 29 30 Section 3: The several features, parts, provisions, sectionssand terms of this ordinance are hereby declared independent and severable, and the invalidity, if any, of any feature, part, provision, section, or term thereof, sha]1 not affect the remainder of this ordinance, nor . render the same inoperative or invalid. Section 4: The Department of Public Works of the Ceunty of Butte is hereby directed to erect appropriate signs giving notice of the prima facie speed limit established herein, within thirty (30) days of the adoption hereof. This ordinance shall take effect thirty days after its passage, and before the expiration of fl.fteen (15) days after its passage, it shall be publi; with the names of the members voting for and against the same, once in a local newspapax published in the County of Butte, Statue of California. PASSED AND ADDPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California, at the regular meeting thereof on the 18th day of .Tune , 1969, by the following vote: AYES: Supervisors Dunaway, Howsden, Reynolds and Chairman McKillop NOES: None ABSENT: Supervisor Maxon NOT VOTING: Bone ATTEST: CLARK A.
