1 AN ORDINANCE ZONING A PORTION OF THE COUNTY
OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, PURSUANT TO
2 ORDINANCE NOS. 475,.522 AND 676 OF SAID COUNTY
3 The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of Cali-
fornia, under and pursuant to Ordinance No. 475 of said County, be-
4 ing.•the Zoning Enabling Ordinance of said County as amended by
Ordinance Nos. 522 and 676, DO ORDAIN as follows:

SECTION 1.

The hereinafter described area situate in the County of Butte,
"~ State of California, shall be and is hereby zoned as an "M-2" (Heavy
Industrial) District as hereinafter described and subject to all the
8 restricted uses applicable to the uses of an "M-2" District. Said
area so zoned being. located in the unincorporated area of Butte
g County, particularly described as follows:,
10 Being a portion of Lot 19 "Franklin Subdivision"
per map .recorded in Map Book 2 on page 143 in the
11 office of the Recorder, County of Butte, State of
California, described as follows:
12 Commencing.at the southwest corner of said Lot 19,
which point lies in the centerline of Franklin Ave.,
13 (Goodspeed Rd); thence along said centerline
north 152.07 feet to the point of beginning;

N 89°36'E, 230 .feet; thence N8T 14E, 173.44 feet;
',~5 thence 502°54'W, 52.53 feet; thence S$9°21'E, ~•-

558.08 feet; thence north parallel with the west
20 line of said Lot 19, 134.07 feet; thence S89°36'W,
170 feet; thence north along the west line of
21 said Lot 19, 18.0 feet to the point of beginning
containing 1.4 Ac.

SECTION 2. REGULATIONS FOR AN "M-2" DISTRICT:

2.1 USES PERMITTED:
~~} a. Any uses permitted in C-l, C-2 and M-1 Districts.
b. Aircraft factories, manufacturing of asbestos, assaying,
23 boiler works, breweries and distilleries, candle manufacturing,
carbon manufacturing, cellulose materials manufacturing, chain and
26 cable manufacturing, disinfectants manufacturing, dry kilns, emery
cloth and sandpaper manufacturing, enameling, feed and cereal mills,
2'J' foundaries, freight terminals, galvanizing:; and Lead plating, glass
or glass product manufacturing, lamp black manufacturing, machinery
28 manufacturing, soda and cleaning compound manufacturing, match manu-
facturing, metal fabrication, oil cloth or linoleum manufacturing,
29 oxygen manufacturing, paint manufacturing, paper box manufacturing,
petroleum distributing stations (wholesale or retail), plywood manu-
30 facturing, printing ink manufacturing, railroad yards or round-
houses, rope manufacturing, soap and soap compound manufacturing,
31. starch glucose or dextrine manufacturing, vegetable oil manufactur-
ing, welding shops, and sheet metal shops, wood planing mill ar wooc
32 working plants, yeast plants and other similar industrial enter-
. prises or businesses in character to those enumerated when interpre-
ted as similar by the Planning Commission.
1 c. Canneries, olive processing plants and other agricultural
processing plants of similar nature.
2 d. Accessory uses and buildings permitted pertinent to any
permitted use.

2.2 MINIMUM SETBACK REQUIRED:
4 Fifty (50} feet from the centerline of the raad, except
where the road is classified as a Federal Aid Secondary and then
8 the minimum setback shall be fifty-five (55) feet from the center-
lin~ of said road.

2.3 BUILDING SITE AREA REQUIREMENTS:.
7 None, except as may be required for building and for off-
street loading area and parking space as set forth below under
g 'Truck Loading and Unloading Space'.
g 2.4 SIDE YARD REQUIREMENT:
The minimum side yard shall not be less than five (5) feet.

2.5 REAR YARD REQUIREMENT:
lI The minimum rear yard shall nat be less then five (5) feet.
I12 2.6 OFF-STREET PARKIi3G REQUIRED:
One parking space for each three (3) employees, or one
13 parking space for each two thousand (2,000) square feet of gross
floor space, whichever is greater.

2.7 TRUCK LOADING AND UNLOADING SPACE:
15 Private off-street loading space fo.r the handling of all
goods, materials and equipment shall be provided. Such space shall
18 be of sufficient area and of such design as to permit the parking
and loading of vehicles without extending into any existing street
j;q beyond the curb line..
1$ 2.8 THE FOLLOWING USES SUBJECT TO THE SECURING OF A USE PERMIT
IN EACH CASE:
19 a. Any residential dwelling or use.
b. Commercial distillation a£ banes, abatairs, auction yards,
20 commercial livestock feed yards, commercial millings, canneries,
i lumber and lumber processing tanneries, fat rendering, garbage fed
21 commercial hog raising, food and agriculture product processing
plants.
22 c. Storage of inflammables.
d. Commercial or public dumping and disposal areas.
23 e. Manufacturing of acids, explosives, fertilizer, glue,
gypsum, lime, plaster of paris, pulp and paper, beet sugar, crushed
g¢ rook, sand and gravel, cement, concrete and/or asphalt hatching
plants,. concrete and clay products.
2g £. .Industzial uses which might be objectionable by reason of
emission of noise, offensive odor, smoke, dust, bright light,
26 vibration or involving the handling of explosives or dangerous
materials.
'27 g. Junk yards and auto wrecking yards.
28 SECTION 3.
All uses of land within the district not specifically authorized
29 and permitted under Section 2, are prohibited.
30 SECTION 4.
Penalty for any violation of the zoning hereby proposed within
31 the district shall be as provided in the Zoning Enabling Ordinance
and in compliance with the provisions of the Zoning Enabling Ordi-
32 nonce, this ordinance shall from and after, its effective date be-
come a supplement to and part of the Zoning Enabling Ordinance.

SECTION 5.
In compliance with the provisions of said Zoning Enabling Ordi-
nance, the same is hereby amended by adding to Section 5 thereof
this Ordinance in full.
SECTION 6.
This Ordinance shall be and is hereby declared to be in full
force and effect from and after thirty (30) days after the date of
its passage, and before the expiration of fifteen (15) days after
its passage, this Ordinance shall be published once with the names
of the members of the Board voting for and against it in the
Chico Enter rise , a newspaper published in the County
of Butte, State of Cal.~fornia.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of
Butte, State of California, on the 2~+~h day of June 1969 by the
