HomeMy WebLinkAbout10501 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 2B 26 27 28 29 30 31 BUTTE couNTY oRDINANCE r'' 10 50 AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING SPEED LIMIT ON CERTAIN ROADS WITHIN THE COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA (Vehicle Code Sections 22357 & 22358) The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California do ordain as follows: Section 1: Said Board finds and determines that upon the basis of an engineering and traffic survey, the Butte County highways hereinafter described -come within the provisions of Section 22358 of the Vehicle Code of the State of California, in that a prima facie speed limit of sixty-five (65) miles per hour is more than is reasonable and safe on said highways, and determines and declares a prima facie speed limit on such Butte County highways as follows: A. That a prima facie speed limit of twenty-five (25) miles per hour is hereby determined, declared and established and that SPEED LIMIT 25 MILES signs be placed at appropriate locations on the hereinafter-described County highways, to wit: 1. SEVENTH STREET between GRAND AVENUE and the SOUTH END, 2. RIO LINDO AVENUE, ESPLANADE to CHICO CITY LIMITS, 3. WEST LINDO AVENUE between STATE HIGHWAY 32 to WEST ESPLANADE DRIVE. B. That a prima facie speed limit of thirty-five (35) miles per hour is hereby determined, declared and established and that SPEED LIMIT 35 MILES signs be placed at appropriate locations on the hereinafter-described County highways, to wit: 1. BURNAP AVENUE, EATON RDAD to COHASSET ROA-. 2. GODMAN AVENUE between EATON ROAD and LASSEN AVENUE. 3. HORSEMAN AVENUE between EATON ROAD and LASSEN AVENUE. Section 2: Said Board finds and determines that upon the basis of an engineering and traffic survey, the Butte County highway hereinafter described comes within the provisions of Section 22357 of the Vehicle Code of the State of California, in that the existing prima facie speed limit is less than is most appropriate to facilitate the orderly movement of traffic on said highway and determines and declares a prima facie speed limit on such County highway as follows: That a prima facie speed limit of forty-five (45) miles per haur is herel~ determined, declared and established and that SPEED LIMIT 45 MILES signs be 32 I placed at appropriate locations on the hereinafter-described County highway, tolwit: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8~' 9 10 11 12 13 i4 15 16 17 18 Z9 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 OAKVALE AVENUE between OLIVE HIGHWAY and MT. IDA ROAD Section 3: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. Section 4: The several features, parts, provisions, sections and terms of this ordinance are hereby declared independent and severable, and the invalidity, if any, of any feature, part, provision, section, or term thereof, shall not affect the remainder of this ordinance, nor render the same inopera- tive or invalid. I Section 5: The Department of Public Works of the County of Butte is hereby directed to erect appropriate signs giving notice of the prima facie speed limit established herein, within thirty (30) days of the adoption hereof. This ordinance shall take effect thirty days after its passage, and before the expiration of fifteen (15) days after its passage, it shall be pub- Iished with the names of the members voting for and against the same, once in a local newspaper published in the County of Butte, State o€ California, PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California, at the regular meeting thereof on the ~.6'tY1 daY of 4antPmbPr __, 1969, by the following vote: AXES.
