2 The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte,
~' State of California, DO ORDAIN as follows:
4 1. That Ordinance No, 1018 of the County of Butte,
'5' Section ~k4 is hereby amended as follows:

Elective Officers shall receive annual salaries as indicated

27 Upon recommendation of the Sheriff and with the approval
28 of the Board of Supervisors, a Constable who devo tes a substantial
portion of his time to law enforcement work under the direction
29 of the Sheriff may be paid compensation in additi on to his sal ary
as Constable in an amount which would correspond to the salary
30 he would earn as a Deputy Sheriffo The additiona l compensation
paid a Constable shall be based upon merit and le ngth of service
31 as set forth in :Sections 607 and 6.8 of the Perso nnel Rules.

This ordinance shall take effect on July 1, 1970,
which is in excess of 30 days after the date of its adoption,
and before the expiration of 15 days after its passage, it
sha11 bepublished with the names of the members voting for
and against the same, once in a newspaper published in the County
of Butte, State of California.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of
the County of Butte, State of California, this 13th day of
January, 1970, by the following vote:
