AN ORDINANCE REPEALING AND CONSOLIDATING "A-3"
' (AGRICULTURAL) DISTRICTS ORDINANCE NOS. 595, 646, Ill,
778, 780, 794, 7~7, 806, 817, 834, 839, 878, 895, 937,
948, 952, 953, AND-ESTABLISxING REGULATIONS FOR THE
1 USE OF LAND,AND THE CONSTRUCTION AND USES OF .BUILDINGS
IN AN "A-3" (AGRICULTURAL) DISTRICT OF BUTTE COUNTY.

3 The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State
`4 of California, under and pursuant to Ordinance No. 475 of said
S County, being the Zoning Enabling Ordinance, as amended, DOES

10 subject to the restrictions and restricted uses and regulations
11 hereinafter specified and provided, said areas so zoned being
12 located in the unincorporated area of Butte County, State of
13 California, and particularly described as follows:

East of "Palermo Honcut Highway"; all of Sections

SECTION 2. REGULATIONS FOR AN "A-3" DISTRICT:

The following regulations shall apply in an A-3 District:

2.7 USES PERMITTED:

a. Single-family dwellings.

b. General farming, horticulture, commercial
19
livestock, poultry production, warehousing
20
and storage.

c. Accessory buildings and uses pertinent to
22
the permitted uses, including agricultural
23
processing plants.

d. blousing facilities (including mobile homes)

to accommodate only agricultural employees
26
and their families employed by the owner or

operator of the premises; and provided
28
further that such housing facility shall be
29
considered accessory to the main building
30
and shall conform to the provision pertaining
31
to required yard and open space for dwellings.

l e. Mobile Homes to house one family when such
2 Mobile Home is the only housing facility
3 located on the premises, provided the
4 following conditions are conformed to:
'B 1. The floor area within the Mobile Home
g shall not be less than five hundred (500)
7 square feet.
g 2. The parcel of land conforms to Section
g 2.3 (minimum lot area of 5 acres), or
10 is a smaller parcel of land lawfully
1~ created prior to the enactment of this
12 Ordinance, subject to written approval
13 by the Director of Planning.
14 2.2 THE FOLLOWING USES SUBJECT TO SECURING A USE
15 PERMIT IN EACH CASE:
16 a. Golf courses and country clubs.
17 b. Public or quasi-public uses including churches,
18 fire houses, hospitals and clinics, parks
19 and playgrounds, schools, public utility
!2a buildings and professional buildings.
21 2.3 MINIMUM LOT AREA REQUIRED:
22 Minimum lot area shall not be less than five (5) acres.
23 2.4 FRONT YARD REQUIRED:
24 Minimum front yard shall be fifty (50) feet from the
2g centerline of the road, except where the road is classified by
26 the County as a Federal Aid Secondary Road and the minimum
27 building setback requirement shall be fifty-five (55} feet from
28 the centerline of said road.
29 2.5 SIDE YARD REQUIRED:
30 Minimum side yard shall not be less than five (5) feet..
g1 SECTION 3. All uses of land not specifically authorized
32 and permitted under Section 2 are prohibited within the district.

l SECTION 4. Butte County Ordinance Nos. 595,,-646,
2 711, 778, 780, 794, 797, 80b, 817,_ 834, 839, 878,.895; 937,
3 948, 952 and 953 are hereby repealed.
4 SECTION 5. In compliance with the provisions of said
5 Enabling Ordinance, the same is hereby amended by adding to
6 Section 5 thereofi this Ordinance in full.
'7 SECTION 6. The penalties for the violation of the
8 zoning hereby imposed within the district shall be as provided
9 in the Zoning Enabling Urdinance. In compliance with the
10 provisions of the Zoning Enabling Ordinance, this Ordinance
11 shall from and after its effective date become a supplement to
12 and part of the Zoning Enabling Ordinance.
13 SECTION 7. The Ordinance shall be and it is hereby
1~ declared to be in full force and effect from and after thirty
15 (30) days after the date of its passage, and before the expiration
16 of fifteen (15) days after the date of its passage this Ordinance
17 shall be published once with the names of the members.of the
18 oard voting for and against it in a newspaper published in the
19 County of Butte, State of California.
