BUTTE COUNTY ORDINANCE loS6 -
AN `ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING SPEED LIMIT ON GERTAIN ROADS
WITHIN THE COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIk'ORNIA
(Vehicle Gode Sections 22357 & 22358)
1 The Board o€ Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California does
$ ordain as follows:
3 Section 1: Said Board finds and determines that upon the basis of an
4 engineering and traffic survey, the Butte County highways hereinafter described
5. come within the provisions of Section 22358 of the Vehicle Code of the State
6 of California, in that a prima facie speed limit of sixty-five ~65) miles per
7 hour is more than is reasonable and safe on said highways, and determines and
$ declares a prima facie speed limit on such Butte County highways as follows:
9 A. That a prima facie speed limit of twenty-five (25) miles per hour
10 is hereby determined, declared and established and that SPEED LIMIT 25 MILES
11 signs be placed at appropriate locations on the hereinafter-described County
12 highway, to wit:
13 LA MIRADA AVENUE from SKYLINE BOULEVARD to WAH00 AVENUE.
14 B. That a prima facie speed Limit of thirty-five X35) miles per hour
15 is hereby determined, declared and established and that SPEED LIMIT 35 MILES
16. signs be placed at appropriate locations on the hereinafter-described County
1T highways, to wit:
18 I. HONEY RUN ROAD from BUTTE CREEK to two miles easterly.
19 2. WEST LIBERTY ROAD from STATE HIGHWAY 99 to BLOCK ROAD.
20 C. That a prima facie speed limit of forty-five (45) miles per hour is
21 hereby determined, declared and established and that SPEED LIMIT 45 MILES
22 signs be placed at appropriate locations on the hereinafter-described County
23 highway, to wit:
24 SKYWAY from BRUCE ROAD to 6000 feet easterly.
25 Section 2: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
2F,' are hereby repealed.
2'7 Section 3: The several features, parts, provisions, sections and terms
28 of this ordinance are hereby declared independent and severable, and the
29' invalidity, if any, of any feature, part, provision, section, or term thereof,
30 shall not affect the remainder of this ordinance, nor render the same inopera-
31 tive or invalid. "

Section 4: The Department of Public Works of the County of Butte is
hereby directed to erect appropriate signs giving notice of the prima facie
speed limit established herein, within thirty (30) days of the-:adoption hereof.
This ordinance shall take effect thirty days after its passage, and
before the expiration of fifteen (15) days after its passage, it shall be pub-
lished with the names of the members voting for and against the same, once in
a local newspaper published in the County of Butte, State of California.
PASSED AND ADOPTBD by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte,
State of California, at the regular meeting thereof on the 21 s~ day of
April , 1970, by the following rote:
