AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING SPEED LIMIT fiN CERTAIN ROADS
WITHIN THE COUNTY OF BUTTE? ST2iTE OF CALIFORNIA

The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California does
ordain as follows:
Section 1: Said Board finds and determines that upan the basis of an
engineering and traffic survey, the Butte County highways hereinafter described
come within the provisions of Section 22358 of the Vehicle Code of the State of
California, in that a prima facie speed limit of sixty-five (65) miles per haur
is more than is reasonable and safe on said highways, and determines and
declares a prima facie speed limit on such Butte Caunty highways as follows:
That a prima facie speed limit of twenty-five X25) miles per
hour is hereby determined, declared and established and that SPEED LIMIT 25
MILES signs be placed at appropriate locations on the hereinafter-described
County highways, to wit:
A. EAST SIXTEENTH STREET between BOUCHER AVENUE and CHICO CITY LIMITS,
Bo VIRGINIA STREET between BOUCHER AVENUE and the EAST END.
Section 2: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
are hereby repealed.
Section 3: The several features, parts, provisions, sections and terms
of this ordinance are hereby declared independent and severable, and the
invalidity, if any, of any feature, part, provisions, section, or term thereof,
shall not affect the remainder of this ordinance, nor render the same inopera°
tine or invalid.
Section 4: The Department of Public Works of the County of Butte is
hereby directed to erect appropriate signs giving notice of the prima facie
speed limit established herein, within thirty {30) days of the adoption hereof.
This ordinance shall take effect thirty days after its passage, and
before the expiration of fifteen days after its passage, it shall be published
with the names of the members voting for and against the same, once in a local
newspaper published in the County of Butte, State of California.
