AN INTERIM ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING REGULATIONS FOR
THE USE OF LAND AND THE CONSTRUCTION OF BUILDINGS
IN AN "A-R" (AGRICULTURAL-RESIDENTIAL) DISTRICT.

2 The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State
3 of California, under and pursuant to Ordinance No. 975, as amended,
4 and declaring an emergency DOES ORDAIN as follows:
b SECTION 1.
g The hereinafter described area situate in the County~of
7 Butte, State of California, shall be and it is hereby zoned as;an
g "A-R" (Agricultural-Residential) District and such area shalh be
g subject to the restrictions and restricted uses and regulations
10 hereinafter specified and provided, Said area so zoned being
I1 located in the unincorporated area of Butte County.
12 The Southerly 1330 feet of the Westerly 1300
feet of the Northeast quarter of Section 9, ',
13 T22N RIE, MDB&Ni.
14 SECTION 2. REGULATIONS FOR AN "A-R" DISTRICT:
15 The following regulations shall apply in an "A-R"

District:
2.1 USES PERMITTED:
a. Single-family-dwelling, not including tents or
lens.
b. Accessory buildings pertinent to the permitted

22 c. Agricultural uses.
23 d. Livestock, subject to requirements as follows:
29 1) Minimum lot area to be devoted to residential
2g se shall be not .less than eight thousand one hundred twenty-.five
26 (8,125) square feet.
27 2) Exclusive of the area devoted tp the residen-
28 tial use, the following lot or parcel areas shall be required for
29 each animal raised or kept on the premises:
30 a) For each horse or head of cattle over',

c) For each head of sheep or goats--two:i

2.2 THE FOLLOWING USES SUBJECT TO SECURING A USE
PERMIT IN EACH CASE:
a. Duplex dwellings and multiple-family dwellings.;
b. Golf courses, country clubs, if permitted, would
permit accessory uses such as driving range, pro shop, cocktail
baz, restaurant.
c. Public and quasi-public uses including churches,
Firehouses, hospitals, parks and playgrounds, schools and public
ztility buildings.
d. Commercial poultry farming and livestock farming.
e. Veterinary c1i<nics, outpatient.
f. Nurseries and plant gardens.
2.3 LOT AREA REQUIRED:
Minimum required area of a lot per dwelling unit shall
~e not less than eight thousand one hundred twenty-five (8,125)
square feet.
2.4 LOT WIDTH REQUIRED:
Minimum lot width shall not be less than sixty-five
24 x(65) feet.
25 2.5 FRONT YARD REQUIRED:
26 Minimum front yard shall be fifty (50) feet from the'
27 enterline of the road, except where the road is classified by the
28 ounty as a Federal Aid Secondary Road, the minimum building`set-
29 ack requirement shall be fifty-five (55) feet from the centerline
30 of road.
31 2.6 SIDE YARD REQUIREMENT:
32 Minimum side yard shall not be less than five (5) feet.

SECTION 3.
Tn compliance with the provisions of said Zoning Enabling
Ordinance, the same is hereby amended by adding this Ordinance
in full.
SECTION 4.
The penalties for the violation of the zoning hereby
imposed within the district shall be as provided in the Zoning
Enabling Ordinance. Tn compliance with the provisions of the
Zoning Enabling Ordinance, this Ordinance shall from and after
its effective date become a supplement to and part of the Zoning
Enabling Ordinance.
SECTION 5.
This emergency ordinance shall take effect immediately
upon its passage, and before the expiration of fifteen (15) ;
days after its passage shall be published once with the names'of
all members voting for and against the same in the
Chico Nnterprise , a newspaper in general
circulation in the County of Butte, State of California.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the
County of Butte, State of California, on the 1~th day of
MAY 1970, by the following vote:
