1 ORDINANCE AMENDING BUTTE COUNTY CODE SECTION 2-33

The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State

of California, do ordain as follows:
That Section 2-33 of the Butte ,County Code is hereby
6 amended to read as follows:
6 Section 2-33, Status of Em to ees. Appointed department
7 heads shall hold their position for a term of office
8
as provided by law or at the pleasure of the Board of
9 Supervisors, as the case may be, as set forth in the
10 Personnel Resolution. Except for employees holding
11 an exempt position as prescribed in Section 7 and
12
an employee appointed to the classification of
13 Deputy Sheriff, any other employee appointed to the
14
position in the classified service who successfully
15
completes a probationary period of six months following
16 his appointment shall have regular status. An .employee
17 appointed to the classification of Deputy Sheriff who
18
successfu7.}y completes a probationary period of twelves
19 months following his appointment shall have regular scat
20 An employee who has regular status, who is promoted to a
21 more responsible position and who successfully completes
22 a probationary period of six months in the new position
23 shall have regular status in the new position except
24
that an employee promoted to the position of Deputy
25
Sheriff must successfully complete a probationary period
26
of twelve months before gaining regular status in the
27
new position. The status of the Welfare, Health, and
28
Civil Disaster employees shall be as prescribed by the
29!
Personnel Resolution and by the rules of the Merit
30
System Division, State Personnel Board of the State
31
of California.

This ordinance shall take effect thirty {30) days after
its passage and before the expiration of fifteen (15) days after
its passage it 'shall be published with the names of the members
voting for and against the same, once ~..n a local newspaper publish-
ed in the County of Butte, State of California.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the
County of Butte,, State of California, at a regular meeting, thereof,
on the 30th day of June, 1970, by.the following vote:
