HomeMy WebLinkAbout11-006IN BUTTE COUNTY Resolution WHEREAS, Employment & Eligibility Professionals are required to perform a multitude of tasks on a daily basis that require excellent skills in business, casework and convnunication, and the use of compassion in dealing with those citizens who rely on temporary public assistance, which is nearly 1 in 4 Butte.County residents; and WHEREAS, Eligibility Professionals assist individuals, children, and families who are in need of temporary and/or emergency food, shelter, housing, and medical care to achieve and maintain self-sufficiency. Eligibility staff promotes a superior level of service to the citizens of Butte County while preserving the dignity of children, families, and adults; and WHEREAS, Employment Professionals enhance the economic well-being of individuals, families, and the community through the One-Stop Centers by providing an array of services to assist job seekers and employers with their employment needs. Employment staff served over b9,000 job seekers in 2014; this number represents a 10% increase over the prior year. Employment Staff continually maintain superior professional results and deliver outstanding services; and WHEREAS, Employment & Eligibility Professionals have effectively implemented a new automated case- processing system and therein successfully converted over 24,000 cases. During this transition the staff has shown tremendous ability to Team and adapt quickly, and to work with diligence, purpose, and efficiency. Employment & Eligibility workers have continued to provide excellent customer service as they have maintained active caseloads while Iaunching the new system; and 'WHEREAS, Employment & Eligibility Professionals are assisted, supported, and trained in the performance of their duties by a variety ofhighly-skilled administrative support and supervisory staff; and 'WHEREAS, it is important that all citizens of Butte County recognize the important services which Employment & Eligibility Professionals provide to citizens throughout our county, state and nation. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors that the County honors its Employment & Eligibility Professionals, Supervisors and Administrative Support staff by proclaiming January 23 through January 29, 20I 1 as Employment & Eligibility Staff Recognition Week in Butte County.
