WHEREAS, in accordance with Government Code Section 25355, the Board of
Supervisors is authorized to accept any gift made to the county, and
WHEREAS, the California Department of Veterans Affairs through its mission of
Operation Welcome Home leveraging volunteers in support of veteran outreach events;
and
WHEREAS, the volunteers to be housed in the Butte County Veterans Office are
trained AmeriCorps volunteers whose wages, benefits and worKers compensation will be
provided by the Corporation for National and Community Service; and
WHEREAS, volunteers will assist regular-help staff of the Veterans Services
Office with support and outreach services; and
WHEREAS, there will be no cost to the County for participation in this
Memorandum of Understanding.
BE 1T FURTHER RESOLVED that:
The Board of Supervisors approves partnering with the California Department of
Veterans Affairs which will provides#affing with AmeriCorps volunteers to assist veterans
in Butte County.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this Stn day
of February 2011 by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Connelly,. Wahl, Kirk, Yamaguchi, and Chair Lambert
