The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, DO
ORDAIN as follows:
Section 1. Section 21=7 of the Butte County Code is
amended to read as follows:
"21-7. The provisions of this Article may, by a sub=
Sequent ordinance, be made inoperative not less than sixty (60)
days, but not earlier tnan the first day of the calendar quarter,
following an increase by any city within this County of the rate
of its sales or use tax above the rate in effect at the time this
article was enacted."
Section 2. It is the intent of this Board to eliminate
from Article II of Chapter 21 of the Butte County Code any pro-
vision for the automatic or mandatory repeal of said Article
following an increase by any city of the rate of its sales or
use tax and to instead provide for repeal thereof only by the
voluntary enactment of a subsequent ordinance.
Section 3. This Ordinance shall take effect thirty
(30) days after its passage, and before the expiration of fifteen
(15) days after its passage, it shall be published with the names
of the members voting for and against same at least once in.a
newspaper published in the County of Butte, State of California.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the
County of Butte, State of California, on the 7th day of Ju ~ ~,
