RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING SUBMITTAL
OF WASTE TIRE ENFORCEMENT GRANT APPLICATIONS FOR BUTTE COUNTY
WHEREAS, Public Resources Cade sections 40000 et seq. authorize the California Departn-tetst ai'
Resources Recycling and Recovery {CalRecycle) to administer various Grant Programs iti furtherance of the
State of California's {State} efforts to reduce, recycle and reuse solid waste generated in the State thereby
preserving landfill capacity and protecting public health and safety and the environment; and
WHEREAS, in furtherance of this authority CalRecycle is required to establish necessary
procedures governing the application, awarding and management of the Grants; and
WHEREAS, procedures established by the State and CalRecycle require each Applicant's govcrnit;~~
body to certify by resolution its approval of the submittal of a Grant Application[s] to CalRecycle; and
WHEREAS, if awarded, Butte County will enter into a Grant Agreement with CalRecycle fer
implementation of said Grant{s);
NU1~', THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVEll that the Butte County Board of Supervisors a~~thori:r.cs
the submittal of Grant Applications to CalRecycle for all available Grants far which Butte County is eligible
for the period of Fiscal Year 20I0/20l 1 through Fiscal Year 201412015; time period not to exceed fve y~:ors
from the date of adoption.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Public Worlcs, or hislher designee is h~.rcb;~
authorized and errrpawered to execute in tl-te name of the Butte Caurlty all Grant-related dacttmetZrs,
including but not limited to, Applications, Agreements, Amendments and requests for paymeni. necessary to
secure Grant funds and implement the approved Grant project.
The foregoing resolution was passed by the T3oard of Supervisors, County of Butte, State of Califortia, this
