WHEREAS, the Senate and House Representatives of the United States of America in congress assembled, has
appropriated funding to assure voting access for individuals with disabilities in accordance with requirements of
Title II, Subtitle D, Part 2, Section 261 of the Help America Vote Act of 2002; and
WHEREAS, the California Secretary of State has been delegated the responsibility for the administration of
Help America Vote Act of 2DD2 funds, including setting up necessary procedures for allocation of those funds;
and
WHEREAS, said procedures established by the California Secretary of State require the County to certify by
resolution, the approval of applications and contracts far distribution of said funds to Butte County; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Butte County Board of Supervisors:
1. Approves the filing and execution of application and contracts for financial assistance for the purpose of
fulfilling duties and responsibilities to be funded from funds provided under the Help America Vote Act
of 2002, Section 261; and
2. Certifies the County, through its County Clerk-Recorder, understands the requirements of the Help
America Vote Act of 2002 concerning certifications, assurances and audit requirements, and
3. Appoints the County Clerk-Recorder or hislher designee as agent to conduct all negotiations, execute,
sign and submit all documents, including but not limited to applications, contracts, payment requests and
other documentation, which may be necessary for the execution of the duties and responsibilities under
the Help America Vote Act of 2002.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte this 26th day of
April, 2011, by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Connelly, Wahl, Kirk, Yamaguchi, and Chair Lambert
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
