RESOLUTION INCREASING THE CHANGE FUNDS FOR
THE BUTTE COUNTY CLERK-RECORDER
WHEREAS, the Butte County Board of Supervisors has determined that, for the
efficient operation of the department of the County Clerk-Recorder, change funds are
necessary; and
WHEREAS, the Government Code of the State of California, Sections 29320 et.
seq., provides for the establishment and maintenance of such change funds in amounts to
be determined by the Boazd of Supervisors; and
WHEREAS, the department of the County Clerk-Recorder has changed its daily
operation such that the previously adopted Resolutions approving and authorizing change
funds in the cumulative amount of $425.00 is now insufficient for the proper
administration of the department; and
WHEREAS, both the County Clerk-Recorder and the Auditor believe that an
increase would (1} be beneficial to the efficient operation of the department of the County
Clerk-Recorder, and (2) would allow for better cash handling practices and procedures,
and therefore mutually support the request for the increase;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Butte County Board of
Supervisors, as follows: '
That in order to provide appropriate accountability for all cash
transactions, it is necessary to increase the amount of the change funds for
the department of the County Clerk-Recorder as follows:
a} County Clerk-Recorder 470.001, from $400.00 to $600.00;
b} County Clerk-Elections 1.34.001, from $25.00 to $50.00.
2. That certified copies of the resolution shall be transmitted to the County
Auditor and the County Treasurer.
That the Chief Administrative Officer and Risk Manager are instructed
pursuant to Section 29323 of the California Government Code to amend
by endorsement the blanket fidelity bond of the County to be conditioned
in addition to its other provisions, upon the faithful administration of the
change funds and upon the willingness and ability of the principal far
whom such funds have been established to account for and pay over the
funds upon demand of the Board of Supervisors at any time.
4. That the Auditor of the County of Butte is hereby authorized and directed
to draw warrants in favor of the department of the County Clerk-Recorder
as follows:
a) in the sum of $200.00, for deposit into the Butte County Clerk-
Recorder 470.001 Change Fund (F-0010);
b) in the sum of $25.00, far deposit into the Butte County Clerk-Elections
130.001 Change Fund (F-0014).
S. That the County Clerk-Recorder or hislher designee will account for the
change funds in accordance with Government Code Section 29390 et.
seq., and will periodically verify the amounts in the funds when requested
by the Auditor-Controller or the Board of Supervisors.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte,
State of California, on the 24`h day of May, 2011, by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Connelly, Wahl, Kirk, Yamaguchi, and Chair Lambert
