RESOLUTION IN RECOGNITION OF DONNA GAGHAGEN
UPON RETIREMENT FROM
BUTTE COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF EMPLOYMENT AND SOCIAL SERVICES
WHEREAS, Donna Gaghagen, Assistant Director of the Department of
Employment and Social Services (DESS), has announced her retirement as of August
5, 2x11.
WHEREAS, Donna began her career with the County of Butte on December 5,
1977, as an Eligibility Worker. Thereafter she served in various positions of increasing
responsibility in the Eligibility and Employment Services programs, including the last 22
years as Assistant Director; and
WHEREAS, Donna provided strong leadership within the department and in the
community by encouraging and modeling a spirit of collaboration, cooperation and
excellent customer service; and
WHEREAS, Donna's commitment to the fiscally responsible use of resources
and the relentless pursuit of new funding opportunities enabled the department to
provide a multitude of quality services to Butte County citizens; and
WHEREAS, Donna has devoted her career to improving the lives of children,
families and seniors and has taken great pride in her job as a public servant conducting
herself with the highest level of integrity and responsibility; and
WHEREAS, Donna has served as a source of inspiration and strength by
consistently demonstrating a calm demeanor, sense of humor, and ability to turn every
challenge into an opportunity to learn and improve; and
WHEREAS, Donna has worked diligently for the past nearly 34 years in the best
interest of Butte County and its citizens, earning the respect and confidence of the
County Administrative Office, her employees, and many county, state and community
partners; and
WHEREAS, Donna will trade mountains of paperwork and budget woes for
tennis, shopping, travel and time with her husband Kim and daughter Ashley. ~..
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board, on its own behalf and
on behalf of the citizens of Butte County, extends its appreciation for your many years of
dedicated service.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors this 23rd day of
June by the following vote:
